Press Release: Review finds cause for concern in some parts of road fuel market (8.7.22)
On Saturday 11 June 2022, the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) wrote to the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) requesting that it conduct an urgent review of competition in the fuel market, and to provide advice to the UK Government on steps that might be taken to improve outcomes for consumers across the UK.
The CMA provided its findings to the Secretary of State on 7 July and published these on 8 July 2022 when it announced the launch of a road fuel market study.
