Details
Successful projects may address the particular priorities identified in a single skills plan or by a relevant sector group, or may take a more cross-cutting approach, delivering against the needs identified in more than one plan.
Projects may address a single ESF Investment Priority or combine outputs and results, from Investment Priority 2.1 and Investment Priority 2.2.
A cross-cutting analysis of the Sector Skills Plans has revealed common drivers of change across the skills sector. Sector growth, often demanding new and more technical skills, digitalization and the ‘Industrial Revolution 4.0’, with a step change in new technologies, were common themes. Skills shortages, a lack of suitably qualified entrants and issues with recruiting suitable teachers and tutors were also noted in several sectors. The need to invest in upskilling the existing workforce was identified across the board.
