Details

This project scoped out the long-term strategy for the Defra / Environment Agency research programme focusing on broad scale modelling in hydrology. Broad scale modelling means developing models capable of making predictions for whole catchments and over long periods. It also takes into account factors such as variations in climate and how the land is used or managed.

The project reviewed existing documentation and consulted leading researchers to develop a short-term research programme covering people’s immediate needs. It also looked at a more fundamental and strategic 5-10 year programme.

The project started in 2001 and was completed the same year at a cost of £21,600.
