Details
This project was designed to address management, organisational and cultural issues that prevent the results of research being adopted or carried out. The study investigated these and other issues that might need to be addressed. The aim was to confirm and / or recommend actions that improve how results from the new Joint research and development (R&D) programme in Flood and Coastal Defence would be adopted, and achieve the intended benefits.
The investigation found the following constraints:
● R&D systems and culture ● organisational and institutional systems and culture across the FCD industry ● individual learning and personal development issues - common to many other professional areas
The project started in 1999 and was completed in 2001.
