Call for evidence description

This research project aims to increase understanding of the impact of transport infrastructure investment on economic performance. The project seeks to improve the quality of debate around transport infrastructure investment through production of a trusted and reliable report. DfT’s appraisal methodology has been designed to be as comprehensive as possible, and we aim to continually update and improve our approach.

We are inviting members of the analytical community to submit academic evidence about:

  • the impact of transport investment on economic performance

  • the extent to which the impacts of transport investment on economic performance are captured by the current appraisal framework and modelling methods

  • the relative scale of any impacts not currently captured by the DfT appraisal framework
