Call for evidence description

This call for evidence provides stakeholders and interested parties with an opportunity to provide views on how the Local Housing Allowance Affordability Funding is targeted. The government announced in the Autumn Statement 2012 that most Local Housing Allowance rates will be increased by a maximum of 1% in 2014/15 and 2015/16. The government also committed to using 30% of the potential savings from this measure (as at Autumn Statement 2012) to increase some rates by more than the 1% limit, which will help prevent more areas becoming unaffordable for Housing Benefit claimants. We aren’t publishing a formal response to this call for evidence, but we’ll include a summary of the responses when final decisions on the funding are made public in the autumn.
