English Private Landlord Survey

Information and documents relating to the English Private Landlord Survey.

The English Private Landlord Survey is a national survey commissioned by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG).

It surveys private landlords and letting agents in England, and collects information about their circumstances, their properties, their tenants, and the possible impact of legislative and policy changes in the sector.

MHCLG has previously surveyed private landlords on a smaller scale and using a different methodology by way of the Private Landlords Survey. This was last published in 2010.

Landlords and agents selected for the survey

The survey randomly samples landlords and agents who are protecting a deposit in 1 of the 3 government approved tenancy deposit schemes.

If you are selected to participate, you will be sent an invitation from NatCen Social Research, who are conducting the research on our behalf. The correspondence will include the MHCLG branding, along with that of your tenancy deposit scheme and of our contractor, NatCen Social Research.
