Government Lead Non-Executive reports
Reports by the Government Lead Non-Executive.
The government has appointed leaders from the private, public and voluntary sectors as non-executives on enhanced departmental boards, chaired by secretaries of state. This has helped departments contribute to the government’s reform programme and introduced greater efficiency to Whitehall.
The Government Corporate Governance Code states that the Government Lead Non-Executive will publish a report on progress every year. The reports describe:
- appointing non-executives from senior positions outside government
- setting up enhanced departmental boards in Whitehall departments
- priority areas identified by the non-executives
