Join Us: Reforming the State Together

Making government work better requires us to break free from outdated practices, smash siloes and leverage the huge wealth of talent we possess across industry and civil society

No. 10 Innovation Fellowship

The No10 Innovation Fellowship is our flagship initiative for bringing world class technical talent into government for high impact tours of duty.

Recent Fellows delivered tools in 48 hours that helped us mitigate crises in real time and led the world’s first pre-deployment testing of a frontier AI model.

This year we are calling on technologists across the country to serve with us at the heart of government for 6-12 months and help us deliver the government’s core missions. You will be managed and mentored by the No10 Data Science team, have access to senior decision makers and work on issues of national importance.

Test & Learn Secondments

An inward secondment programme for public service delivery experts working near the frontline to help drive public service reform in their field. Secondees will work in multidisciplinary teams to design and test new ways of delivering public services.

In 2024, the UK Government launched a £100 million Innovation Fund to design, test, and expand the impact of more effective approaches to public service delivery.

As part of this programme, we will collaborate closely with local communities, breaking down functional silos to gain deep insights into local needs and rapidly iterating based on user feedback.

Our work will be driven by multidisciplinary teams of designers, data scientists, and behavioural scientists working alongside policy professionals and experienced frontline delivery experts from public services.

We are looking for individuals with hands-on operational experience across various policy areas to join our public service reform team.

Public Appointments

Public appointees play a vital role in public life. They help guide the strategy for some of the most important institutions in the United Kingdom.

We are placing a renewed focus on public appointments as a lever to bring in fresh talent to key government roles, emphasising diversity, expertise, and innovation.

You may be a prolific entrepreneur who has disrupted industry, a doctor that who has brought their expertise to bear in improving health outcomes for patients or an engineer with experience of taking ideas from patent to product. Regardless of your background we want to hear from you.

We want a diverse set of people with exceptional talents to play a leading role in public delivery. Be that as a Non-Executive Director of a government department, or a board member of a delivery critical Arm’s Length Body.

If this sounds of interest to you then please see current public appointments and apply today,  or contact us at [email protected].
