Consultation description
ONS would like to hear your views on the following recommendations:
-
Due to improvements in data and methods there is no longer any need for an adjustment to regional GVA data. Therefore the Highlands and Islands adjustment should be discontinued from the December 2015 publication of regional GVA (Income) estimates.
-
As the improvements to the data have been applied consistently to all years of the time series the adjustment should be removed from the entire time series of data, from 1997 to the latest provisional year.
-
During this review general issues with the regional apportionment of rental income at the NUTS2 and NUT3 levels were noted. Therefore the methodology for the regional apportionment of rental income at the NUTS2 and NUTS3 levels should be changed in all regions of the UK to make use of dwelling stock and house price data for the allocation of imputed rental of owner-occupied dwellings.
