Consultation description

This consultation is about the proposal to allow drivers who hold a licence to drive large vehicles (buses and lorries) issued originally in Switzerland to exchange it for a British equivalent if the driver becomes resident in Great Britain. Switzerland was designated in law for the purpose of exchanging driving licences on 1 June 1984. This allows the exchange of licences to drive car and motorcycles for the British equivalent. The provision does not include licences to drive buses and lorries.
