A summary of the responses received during the consultation on the implementation of the variable mandatory speed limits (VMSL), as part of the M5 junction 4a to 6 smart motorway all lane running scheme.
The consultation took place between 3 March 2014 and 14 April 2014 and provided an opportunity for stakeholders and other interested parties to comment on the proposed implementation of VMSL between junctions 4a and 6 of the M5.
The Highways Agency has considered the comments raised by those consulted and this document also summarises the response to those comments.

Proposals for draft regulations allowing the Highways Agency to implement variable speed limits between M5 junctions 4a and 6 in order to relieve congestion in this area. We are keen to hear your views on how the draft regulations could affect you, your organisation or those you represent.
