The government is keen to ensure that the Primary Authority statutory guidance is effective and beneficial. The 55 consultation responses sought greater clarity on eligibility requirements and inspection plans, and highlighted some anomalies in relation to the categories which provide the scope of the scheme. The statutory guidance was revised accordingly, and the final version was published on 1 October 2013.

Consultation description

Primary Authority has developed significantly since its launch in 2009 and is set to be extended during 2013. The statutory guidance has been revised accordingly. This consultation seeks views on whether it is sufficiently clear in relation to eligibility and inspection plans, and how best to address certain anomalies with categories that have become apparent. The document has two parts: the consultation itself and the revised guidance.
