We published the Pubs Code Adjudicator’s response to the proposals to issue guidance about the application of the Market Rent Only option on 15 March 2022. The response provides details of next steps.

There were 20 responses to the consultation received. This included responses from the 6 regulated pub-owning businesses (POBs) and responses from a number of industry representative bodies and groups, as well as individuals.

Consultation description
We are seeking views from those with an interest in the operation of the Pubs Code, in particular those who may be directly affected by the proposed changes. This includes, but is not restricted to:
- tied (and previously tied) tenants and those that represent their interests
- pub-owning businesses covered by the Pubs Code
- trade bodies
- professionals whose work involves the provisions of the Pubs Code.
