Digital developments for criminal legal aid: civil providers
eForms will no longer be available for new applications from Wednesday 18 September 2024.
Following the successful implementation of the Apply for Criminal Legal Aid service, eForms will no longer be available for new applications from Wednesday 18 September 2024. This includes applications from civil providers, for example, civil contempt and breaches of anti-social behaviour injunctions.
Apply for Criminal Legal Aid
Applications from Wednesday 18 September must be made via the Apply for Criminal Legal Aid service. If you do not have a 2022 Standard Crime Contract, you will not have been onboarded onto this service.
The ability for civil contract holders to conduct work falling within the criminal category, in accordance with the relevant Specifications of the 2024 Standard Civil Contract, is being considered in future developments of the Apply service. However, the facility for civil providers to apply for criminal legal aid is not currently available, unless the provider also holds a 2022 Standard Crime Contract.
If you need to make an application for work falling within the criminal category, and you do not have a crime contract, you will need to make the submission via email, attaching a copy of the CRM14 / CRM15 form to [email protected].
