First time pass rates improve again
Pass rates at annual test continue to improve across the board according to VOSA’s 2012 to 2013 effectiveness report
Pass rates at annual test continue to improve across the board according to VOSA’s 2012 to 2013 effectiveness report published today (3rd October 2013).
Figures show that the pass rates at annual test continue to rise; including an 81.5% first time pass rate for buses, 77.6% for heavy goods vehicles and 84.3% for trailers.
There has also been a significant increase in the number of non-VOSA sites testing heavy vehicles and buses. During 2012 to 2013 an average of 55% of tests were carried out at non-VOSA sites, compared to 39% in 2011 to 2012. Today the figure stands at around 70%.
VOSA and DSA Chief Executive Alastair Peoples said:
The findings within this report support what I have always believed, that collaboration between VOSA and the transport sector can lead the way to safer roads for UK motorists.
Our annual effectiveness report is an excellent way for the industry to see how well we are doing and what needs to be focused on to see us continue to drive up the standards of all road users.
This Report is a detailed document that shows VOSA’s work for the previous financial year to make sure the compliance of buses, trucks, MOT garages and specialist schemes to the standards that help maintain road safety.
