Sir Edward Lister reappointed as Chair of Homes England
Communities Secretary Rt Hon James Brokenshire MP has reappointed Sir Edward Lister as Chair of Homes England.
Communities Secretary Rt Hon James Brokenshire MP has today (25 June 2019) reappointed Sir Edward Lister as Chair of Homes England, the government’s housing accelerator.
The appointment term is for 3 years and follows the completion of Sir Edward Lister’s previous 3-year term as Chair of the agency.
Communities Secretary Rt Hon James Brokenshire MP said:
This government is committed to delivering 300,000 homes a year to ensure everyone across the country has access to a decent, affordable, secure place to call home.
Sir Edward has brought his experience, influence and thoughtfulness to bear in helping us to bring real change to the housing market, and so I am delighted to reappoint him as Chair of Homes England.

Homes England is the government’s housing accelerator, with responsibilities including:

increasing the number of new homes that are built in England, including affordable homes and homes for market, sale or rent

increasing the supply of public land and speeding up the rate that it can be built on

helping to stimulate local economic growth by using their land and investment, and attracting private sector investment in local areas
