BVD's Twitter policy
The @bonavacantia_uk Twitter account is managed by the Bona Vacantia Division (BVD) of the Government Legal Department. It will be run as a pilot project initially and is subject to review.
We do not use any automation (such as tools which generate tweets from RSS feeds or web pages) to post content on Twitter.
If you follow us, you can expect tweets to cover information about news, notices, publications and unclaimed estates.
We do not provide legal advice to the public.
We do not accept claims of any kind through Twitter.
We reserve the absolute right not to post nor reply to Tweets.
Following
We do not automatically follow back followers.
Being followed or re-tweeted by BVD is no actual or implied endorsement of any kind.
Availability
We will manage BVD’s Twitter account during office hours, Monday to Friday in our complete discretion.
BVD accepts no responsibility whatsoever for lack of service due to Twitter downtime or other technical event.

We do not recommend that Twitter is used as a method of submitting Freedom of Information requests. In order to prevent delay such requests should be sent in writing to the Division at the address below or by email to [email protected].
