Official statistics

Statistics on International Development (SID)

Statistics on International Development (SID) are accredited official statistics. This means they are official statistics that have been independently reviewed by the Office for Statistics Regulation (OSR) and comply with the standards in the Code of Practice for Statistics. Accredited official statistics are called National Statistics in the Statistics and Registration Service Act 2007.

SID focuses on the main international measure of official aid spend, known as Official Development Assistance (ODA). SID is published twice each year: provisional aid spend is published in the spring and final aid spend in the autumn.

The provisional SID publication is based on summary data with limited sector and geography breakdown. The final SID publication is based on finalised data and provides detailed breakdowns including a project-level dataset.

We aim make more data publicly available in a transparent and accessible way. These statistics voluntarily comply with the Code of Practice for Statistics.
