Kerry Smith

Biography

Kerry Smith joined the Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) on 8 April 2024 as an Assistant Chief Constable (ACC).

She had previously worked as Director of Corporate Services at the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) between November 2023 and March 2024 and prior to that served 30 years in the police service, mainly with Nottinghamshire Police and Leicestershire Police and the East Midlands Specialist Operations Collaboration. In her most recent role at Leicestershire Police, Kerry was responsible for Specialist Operations and was the Regional Firearms Lead. She is an experienced Strategic and Tactical Firearms Commander and was previously an Authorised Firearms Officer (AFO). She served at all ranks up to Assistant Chief Constable.

The Assistant Chief Constable for Professionalism is responsible for driving initiatives that uphold trust, accountability, and ethical standards while fostering an inclusive and professional working environment.
