Transfer of the commissioning of 0-5 years children’s public health services from NHS England to local authorities: commissioning data covering mandated services and other key indicators

Details

This is required in order to ensure that:

  1. regular local reporting on key performance indicators remains available throughout the transition
  2. collation of a national picture and local benchmarking may be made available

This document also provides a detailed technical specification for individual items of data and key performance indicators, and describes both interim and longer term plans for local and national reporting.

The ‘health visitor and 0 to 5 commissioning transfer’ guidance includes:

  • mandation factsheets explaining the responsibilities of local authorities after the transfer
  • information on how and why the commissioning and associated funding are being transferred

The transfer is due to take place in October 2015.
