2012 sporting legacy policy direction

Direction from the Secretary of State to ensure lottery money is distributed to support a sporting legacy from major sporting events (in particular, the 2012 Games).

Details

  1. In these Directions any reference to a section is a reference to a section of the National Lottery etc. Act 1993.
  2. In determining the persons to whom, the purposes for which and the conditions subject to which it distributes any money under section 25(1), the English Sports Council shall take into account the following matters :-

A. The need to deliver a sporting legacy from major sporting events (in particular, the 2012 Games) in order to increase sports participation in local communities and to increase the opportunities for competitive sport for people of all ages.
