Details

This report looks at young people’s attitudes towards trusteeship, identifies potential solutions to the barriers that stop them taking up trustee positions and looks at ways to encourage more young people to become trustees.

Charities can experience difficulties when recruiting young people, including:

  • young people not showing any interest in being a trustee
  • resistance from older committee members
  • difficulty finding young people

Trustees can use this report to help identify whether they have a sufficiently diverse trustee board and how they might provide more opportunties for young people to get involved in running the charity.
