In this publication, the government welcomes Sir Eric Pickles’ report Securing the ballot: review into electoral fraud and responds to his recommendations.

Electoral fraud is unacceptable on any level. The government aims to:

  • prevent the intimidation and undue influence of voters
  • end the dubious practice of postal vote harvesting
  • pilot the use of identification in polling stations

This response works through Sir Eric’s recommendations to set out the government’s views and proposed actions.
