This guidance set outs what the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) does in response to an aircraft accident and serious incident.

It also explains:

  • what the AAIB expects of the aircraft operator
  • how the AAIB will communicate with the operator during an investigation

It applies to UK-based operators and foreign airlines operating aircraft within the UK.
