The government is committed that next year’s switch to IER will be fully funded. These allocations are a key part of successfully delivering IER in summer 2014. The Cabinet Office has worked in consultation with electoral practitioners to get allocations as accurate as possible.

IER will give everyone who is eligible to vote control over their registration. The new online process will be quicker, convenient and more secure. Transition to IER will take place in England and Wales in June 2014. It will be introduced in Scotland after the referendum in September 2014.
