This circular publicises amendments to the Secretary of State’s determinations under the Police Regulations 2003.
References to police authorities
The Secretary of State has determined that, with effect from 22 November 2012, the determinations under regulation 11, 14, 22, 27, 30, 32, 33, 34 and 35 shall be amended to reflect the abolition of police authorities.
Two further amendments have also been made on the application of acting up allowances, and the reinsertion of two paragraphs omitted from a previous amendment relating to removal expenses.
Public holidays
The Secretary of State has determined that, with effect from 22 November 2012, the determination under regulation 22 shall be amended to provide detail on how an officer can nominate days to be treated as public holidays. This is to allow implementation of recommendation 8 from Part 1 of Tom Winsor’s Independent Review of Police Officer and Staff Remuneration and Conditions.
This determination amendment follows the amendment to Regulation 26 of the Police Regulations 2003 coming into force (Home Office circular 22/12).
