Details
The Act contains a number of measures to tackle specific crime issues. Measures to tackle dangerous dogs, illegal firearms, sexual harm and violence and forced marriage are contained in Parts 7 to 10 of the Act.
Part 7 – Dangerous dogs
The provisions in the Act are part of a wider package of measures to reduce dog attacks and make owners more responsible for their dogs. These powers sit alongside anti-social behaviour powers in the Act that can be used to tackle dangerous dogs and irresponsible owners.

Part 8 – Firearms
The Act targets those who sell or transfer prohibited weapons or ammunition through the introduction of a new offence and increased sentencing powers for the courts.
Part 9 – Protection from sexual harm and violence
The UK has some of the toughest powers in the world to deal with sex offenders. The measures in the Act reform the system of civil orders under the Sexual Offences Act 2003 used to protect children and vulnerable adults from sexual harm, making the powers available more flexible and effective. This Part also strengthens the powers to close or monitor premises that have been or may be used for child sexual exploitation.
Part 10 – Forced marriages
The Act makes two changes to tackle forced marriage more effectively: criminalising forcing someone to marry and criminalising the breach of Forced Marriage Protection Orders.
