Waste recovery sites: how to apply for a pre-consent certificate
Updated 2 April 2024
Applies to England
If you run a waste recovery site with a permit in England and regularly receive shipments of the same waste, you may benefit from having a ‘pre-consent’ certificate.
The advantages are that:
- the notification process is quicker
- consents may last up to 3 years, rather than the standard 12 months
Who can apply
To apply, you must be either:
- the permit holder for the waste recovery site
- someone authorised in writing to apply on behalf of the permit holder for the waste recovery site
The waste recovery site must be in England.
How to apply for a new pre-consent certificate
