This report by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services (HMICFRS) assesses the quality of the service provided to victims of crime by the British Transport Police (BTP).

The investigation reviewed the service provided by the BTP for each of the 6 components of the victim service assessment:

  • call handling
  • deployment of resources
  • crime recording
  • screening and allocation
  • investigation
  • outcomes

HMICFRS has worked collaboratively with Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary in Scotland to produce a single report that covers BTP’s whole jurisdiction across England, Wales and Scotland.
