Reports setting out the conclusions and recommendations of the independent triennial review of the British Transport Police Authority (BTPA), between 2013 to 2014.

The review was completed in 2 parts. Part:

  • 1 considered the continuing need for the BTPA’s functions and the case for it to remain a non-departmental public body looking the control and governance arrangements in place to ensure compliance with the principles of good corporate governance
  • 2 considered issues raised by the industry about the effectiveness of the BTPA in the discharge of its functions and the industry’s ability to influence outcomes

The authority is the non-departmental public body that oversees the British Transport Police which is responsible for policing the rail and other networks.

The first part of the review was release on 14 July 2014 and the second part on 21 October 2014.
