Details

The Charter for Budget Responsibility sets out the government’s fiscal and debt management policy and how this will operate. This includes the government’s fiscal and debt management objectives and its targets which will deliver these objectives (including the “fiscal mandate”). The Charter for Budget Responsibility is required by the Budget Responsibility and National Audit Act 2011.

This updated version was initially published in draft in October 2021. It sets out the new fiscal framework announced at Autumn Budget and Spending Review 2021.
