Details

The Charter for Budget Responsibility sets out the government’s fiscal framework and debt management policy. This includes the government’s fiscal and debt management objectives and its targets which will deliver these objectives (including the “fiscal mandate”). The Charter for Budget Responsibility is required by the Budget Responsibility and National Audit Act 2011.

This updated version was initially published in draft in November 2022. It sets out the new fiscal framework announced at Autumn Statement 2022.
