Details

Following its launch the Defence Electronics & Components Agency (DECA) conducted its first employee opinion survey in October 2015, as part of the pan-Civil Service People Survey (CSPS), along with 95 other government departments and agencies. The report lists the questions asked, details employee responses and compares our results with the organisations that took part.

When compared against previous results for the former Defence Support Group (DSG), and specifically the two DSG sites that now form DECA, the 2015 results show a 10.4% increase in participation, as well as positive increases of up to 10% across all themes. At the heart of DECA’s core values is “valuing our people” and in this context the results of the survey indicate that we still have work to do to ensure that all our employees are fully engaged as we take the business forward.

Our Executive Management Board is resolutely committed to taking positive, visible and sustained action to directly address feedback from the survey. To ensure that happens, a dedicated CSPS / People Engagement Theme has been incorporated within our MOD approved Transformation Programme. Work is already underway which is beginning to address the areas for improvement identified in the results. Our Board govern this process and drive the improvement through a multi-layered team approach, which includes input and engagement from all areas of the business.

We are fully committed to significant improvement in engagement scores during 2016 and will use this and future surveys as a key measure of the positive impacts and progress of the CSPS/People Engagement aspects of our Transformation Programme.
