CLeaR local tobacco control assessment
Guidance for local authorities, public health bodies and the NHS on using ‘deep dive’ self-assessment tools to improve their tobacco control work.

Details
The ‘deep dive’ self-assessment tools help local public health bodies and their partners take a more in-depth look at important areas of their tobacco control work. The tools will be especially helpful in assisting local health networks to deliver the tobacco control related commitments in the NHS Long Term Plan.
Local organisations can also use the Action on Smoking and Health (ASH) local toolkit to demonstrate the scale of the harm caused by tobacco use and the contribution this makes to health inequalities.
Public Health England (PHE) provides support and training for local public health organisations to undertake the assessments. Please contact [email protected] for more information.
The CLeaR model handbook can also be downloaded online.
