Details

The Committee on Standards in Public Life has submitted evidence to the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee’s inquiry into ‘fake news’. The Select Committee defines fake news as ‘the growing phenomenon of widespread dissemination, through social media and the internet, and acceptance as fact of stories of uncertain provenance or accuracy’.

The submission draws on the Committee on Standards in Public Life’s recent seminar on the conduct of referendums in the UK.
