Details
Fifty-four governments and UN endorsers have endorsed this declaration. It sends a strong message that conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) must end, and outlines the steps needed to achieve this. It is structured around the 4 main themes of the Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict (PSVI) Conference (28 to 29 November 2022). These are:
- strengthening the global response
- preventing conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV)
- promoting justice and accountability
- and supporting survivors
Over 40 countries provided national commitments outlining the steps they will take to address conflict-related sexual violence. These commitments are compiled and annexed to the Declaration as a CRSV Compact.
