This report focuses on the experiences of some charities that deliver public services by joining forces to work together.

Working together can bring benefits in terms of quality of service for beneficiaries. Charities that work together may experience an increase in access to:

  • funding
  • capacity building
  • peer learning
  • shared resources and raised profile

This research also highlights the need for trustees to identify and manage any risks that may arise from working with other charities.

Trustees can use the research findings to work within the charity law framework, and follow good governance principles, when deciding to work as a group.
