Details

This is the tenth annual review of controls on imports of animal products, also known as Products Of Animal Origin (POAO), into the United Kingdom (UK) in accordance with section 10A of the Animal Health Act 1981 (as amended by the Animal Health Act 2002).

It reports on the developments in activities of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), the Devolved Administrations (DAs) and other Government Departments and Agencies in 2011 to 2012 to reduce the risk of disease entering the UK via imports of POAO.

It includes seizure statistics of illegal personal food imports across Government.
