The first report of the National Career Council follows a year of extensive consultation with leaders from:

  • education
  • business
  • the careers profession

It also follows in-depth reviews of careers policies and practices in the UK and internationally. It includes 7 recommendations and practical steps to improve careers guidance for young people and adults. It highlights the need to address the mismatch between high unemployment and employers who are struggling to recruit.

In February 2014 the Council produced an interim report on how much improvement has been made 6 month’s on from their first report.
