Customer further research surveys

Your personal information, supplied for the purposes of this and other surveys, whereby you have chosen to opt in for further Home Office research, will be held and processed by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI), the Home Office, 2 Marsham Street, London, SW1P 4DF. This research is being conducted by UKVI, and UKVI is the controller of this information.

This privacy notice applies to this and other surveys which you have opted to take part in as further research via previous customer satisfaction surveys.

How does UKVI use the data that you provide?

We value your views and feedback about your experience of making an application to visit, work, study or stay permanently in the UK; and future products and services. The results of this survey will help us to improve the service that you and others will receive.

Further research surveys may ask questions regarding your experience of the service that you received from UKVI; your opinion about products and services we may offer in the future; key demographic information (for example nationality, gender identity) or an email address so we can use the demographic information that you have given us in previous surveys.

Please note that the answers you provide in this survey will not affect any current or future visa application with UKVI.

The Home Office is only allowed to process your data where there is a lawful basis for doing so.

The processing of data from this survey is based upon consent from the participant. Participation in this research is voluntary, and you are free to decide not to take part if you do not want to.

Storing your information

Your personal information will be held for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it is being processed, and in line with departmental retention policy. You can read more details of this policy.

Data sources

The information you provide in this survey will be analysed against the application data that we hold for you. The application data is sourced from our Central Immigration Database. The information you provide in this survey will not be linked to your immigration records.

All of the data we process is kept in the strictest confidence and will only be used for research purposes, to help us improve the service we provide. Your data will be anonymised; we will not analyse or report findings in a way that will identify you.

Will you have to provide contact details?

Yes.

You may be asked to provide your email address so that we can analyse demographic data that we already hold on you. In this case, we will anonymise the data when analysed.

Requesting access to your personal data

You have the right to request access to the personal information that the Home Office holds about you. You can read details of how to make the request for access.

Where data held is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to rectify that data. Should you need to rectify the data held, you should contact the Home Office via the Information Rights Team (contact details below).

You can withdraw your consent at any point after completing the survey. If you wish to withdraw your consent you should contact the UKVI Customer Insight Team directly via [email protected]. You can also request the erasure of the data you have provided in this survey.
