Details

The government set out the need for greater transparency across its operations to enable the public to hold public bodies and politicians to account. This includes a commitment relating to public expenditure, intended to help achieve better value for money.

From April 2010, the Department for Education began to publish spend over £25,000, which now includes spend for our executive agencies:

  • the Standards and Testing Agency (STA)
  • the Education Funding Agency (EFA)
  • the National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL)

From April 2013 the Teaching Agency (TA) and National College (NC) merged to form the National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL).

We aim to publish the data for the previous month by the last working day of the current month.

You can also search for the Department for Education’s and executive agencies’ data on Data.gov.uk where you will find further information about the government’s transparency initiative.
