Details

The fleet mix model is used to forecast the composition of the commercial aircraft fleet operating to and from the UK to 2050.

Ricardo Energy & Environment reviewed the methods, data and assumptions used in the fleet mix model.

The review made recommendations for both immediate updates and future development to the fleet mix model.

The recommendations for immediate updates were made to the Department for Transport (DfT) aviation forecasting model and used to produce the 2017 UK aviation forecasts.

Forthcoming versions of the DfT aviation forecast model will consider the recommendations for future development.
