This direction has now closed. A revised direction issued in March 2023 replaces it.

This direction requires the council to co-operate with a commissioner appointed by the Secretary of State for Education. It follows a 21 September 2022 Ofsted report that judged children’s services to be inadequate.

This direction replaced an earlier improvement notice issued to Herefordshire Council in May 2021.
