Ofsted inspected Sandwell metropolitan borough council and issued 3 reports on:

• arrangements for safeguarding and looked-after children services
• arrangements for the protection of children and young people
• looked-after children services

Ofsted found the council to be ‘inadequate’ in each report.

In response the Secretary of State for Education issued a direction to Sandwell metropolitan borough council.
