This direction requires the council to take steps to improve its children’s social care services, including co-operating with a commissioner appointed by the Secretary of State for Education, following insufficient improvement progress made and to an adequate standard.

This direction replaces an earlier improvement notice issued to Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council in February 2022.

A revised direction issued in March 2023 replaces this direction.
