Analysis of data relating to people who die with dementia in England.
Documents
Details
This briefing provides an analysis of data recorded on the death certificates of people who died between 2012 and 2014 with any recorded mention of dementia.
It focusses on:
- whether there are changes in dementia deaths over time
- the profile of the people that die with dementia
- where they die
- what they die from
It is written for health and social care commissioners to help them make sure that end of life care meets the needs of people with dementia locally.
The dying with dementia data analysis report contains a more detailed analysis of the data. The supporting dataset can also be used to see all the recorded data by local authority and clinical commissioning group (CCG).
