This form is for packing centres to apply for authorisation to pack eggs.
Packing centres must be approved as food business operators by the local authority. They must meet requirements concerning hygiene, record keeping and HACCP processes.
Authorised packing centres are given a unique packing centre code. This must be used on all the labelling of graded eggs before they leave the premises.
Applicants should read Eggs marketing: guidance on the legislation before completing the form. It explains rules covering the production, marking, transport, grading, packing and onward marketing of eggs which are intended for human consumption.
