Independent review of electrical engineering standards launch event, 5 March 2021

Government and Ofgem jointly commissioned an independent panel, chaired by Simon Harrison, to undertake a review of electrical engineering standards.

The report outlines ways that electrical engineering standards can be changed such that:

  • they are not creating undue costs on the electricity system and consumers
  • they are effectively facilitating a smart and flexible electricity system

The panel was supported by detailed technical advice from Frazer Nash Consulting.
