Details

The Department for Work and Pensions has carried out an equality impact assessment on changes to Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) contained in the Welfare Reform Act 2012. These relate to:

  • the time limiting of contribution-based ESA
  • the ending of the special contribution conditions for new ESA claims from young people
  • the ending of the rule linking new claims to ESA to a previous claim within the last 104 weeks
